Information you give us directly, when you submit the "Share Your Story" form:

  • Your name (required)

  • Email address (required)

  • Phone number (optional)

  • State, city/town, and county

  • The issue you'd like to talk about

  • Who, if anyone, you've already contacted about it

  • Your confirmation that you consent to receive email outreach from us

Information collected automatically, when you visit the site:

  • Standard technical data such as browser type, device type, and general location, collected through Wix, our website platform, and its cookies.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. This site is not directed at children.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you submit to:

  • Review your submission and understand the issue you're raising

  • Follow up with you by email or phone if we need more detail

  • Identify patterns across submissions so we can help amplify issues more effectively

  • Reach out to you about opportunities to add your voice to advocacy efforts around your issue

  • Operate, maintain, and improve this website

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. We do share it in these circumstances:

  • With service providers who help us operate this site (for example, Wix, our website and forms platform), under their own privacy and security obligations.

  • With outside partners, as part of amplifying your issue. When we work to raise the profile of an issue you've submitted, this can involve sharing your name and/or contact information with allied advocacy organizations, community partners, journalists, or elected officials' offices, so they can follow up with you directly or include your voice in their own outreach.

  • If required by law, or to protect the safety of you or others.

4. Your Choices

  • You can opt out of email outreach at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe option in our emails.

  • You can ask us to correct your information, tell us not to share it with outside partners, or delete it from our records entirely, by contacting us at team@communityvoicesproject.com.

  • Providing your phone number is optional. Name and email are needed to submit the form and for us to follow up with you.

5. Data Retention

We retain submissions for as long as reasonably needed to review, act on, and follow up on the issue you've raised — or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information submitted to us, including relying on the security practices of Wix, our hosting and forms provider. No online system is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies

This site uses cookies and similar technologies, primarily through Wix, to operate core site features (like the submission form) and to understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
